Worst workplace time-wasters

And the winner is …

… email, in a landslide victory.

That comes from a BLR poll asking employees which nonwork-related activities distract them most.

Here are the time-waster “winners” from poll:

  • Email (sending and receiving) — 57%
  • Web surfing — 17%
  • Social media sites — 14%
  • Instant messaging — 4%

Most employees admit they get too caught up in reading and responding to emails. The remedy?
