A recent study shows once-wary employees are more open to the use of technology in the payroll process, and HR is key to the change.
That’s the finding of the most recent “Getting Paid in America” survey by the American Payroll Association (APA). And it’s good news for your employer and your Payroll department.
Here’s what the survey said:
- 96% of the people asked are paid via direct deposit — that’s a big jump from previous years
- The best time to initiate direct deposit enrollment is with your standard new-hire paperwork that HR typically administers, and
- Direct deposit isn’t enough. Companies see real savings when they go paperless with electronic paystubs, too. About nine out of 10 employees who responded said they were OK with paperless.
